10 CDs that changed my life

Phew, holidays have passed and it turned out that we have a jubilee - 10 post .... I decided to take this opportunity to throw my scribble, which appeared probably 2 years ago in "Passenger" - the thing about my favorite CDs. Not everyone reads newspapers now so for some it may be interesting. "Feuilleton" further supplemented with links to teams, and links to blogs that can suck the described plates, photos, and videosy described bands. The descriptions alone do not changed - they are like 2 years ago (hence can this and that, in the meantime has changed). I have not found just anywhere Klamydii links to the plate ... Enjoy reading, downloading, watching and listening. I hope also that it encourages someone to listen to something interesting and perhaps even purchase some titles (for example, may be some obczaić Allegro)

--------------------- -----------------------
Someone like me who loves music is hard to choose 10 CDs. Maybe if it was a hundred, it would give the council? So I decided to skip a lot of positions very obvious and described several times already in this box by others. I think a little pointless to dwell here on the boards of bands like Minor Threat, Bad Brains, The Undertones, Agnostic Front, 7 Seconds, The Ramones, DRI, Dead Kennedys, Clash Single, Nausea, Crass, who is fucked in all but the first record but thanks to him I was a vegetarian, GBH, Exploited (kidding), etc. There is also my favorite from The Accused probably because this issue is an interview with them and possibly (if the winner all the time and laziness), and my brief comment. So in sum - I felt that there present several items very important to me, and I think also for the scene / music HC / Punk. Important, but somewhat less known or forgotten a little bit - a small set of educational especially for younger readers. Stylistic dispersion is huge, but just listen to all genres of hc / punk. Unfortunately, recent years have not brought too many superb discs so dominated by antiques. Maybe this is due to the fact that in punk rock, almost everything has already been invented, and this time the differences are mainly due to production details. Of course I listen to still hundreds of new bands, but somehow I do not do such an impression on me as pioneers. Enjoy, and I hope it encourages someone to look for these items.

WIPERS Youth Of America "1981 (Park Avenue Records)

little memory fails, but this is probably the first punk album that I recorded myself entirely from the radio. Then, of course, did not associate it with punk rock. In the early 80's in radio Troika let a lot of cool plates including Peter and his cult Kaczkowski broadcasts often promote some unknown bands, not even giving their names and using names instead of letters grackich. Wipers song "When It's Over" from the album was "beta" and perhaps even in the name of the song wanders to the list of hits Marek Niedzwiecki. Once the CD has been after some time, once set in its entirety is recorded it himself. 6 relatively long tracks, maintained in a specific melancholijno-depressive atmosphere and no major asset of this album - a great game guitars, amazing harmonies. In the early 90's did I get the vinyl. A few years later began to include through Internet reaching wider information such that they were from Portland, that someone was playing Wipers Poison Idea! Then came punk Tribute To Wipers, began to resume their other, even older than this record, which proved to be very good discs, etc. You can even buy a DVD, which is the edge of his teeth. I read somewhere recently that the board was created as a kind of a response to the contemporary situation on the American scene when punk bands recorded their getting shorter and faster songs. Greetings to P. Kaczkowski (although I doubt it would reach him) - whom as I heard a lot Pisser cool music when peers listen to Culture Club, Madonna or Michael Jackson. Perhaps thanks to this I am now in this place.

Angry Samoans' Back From Samoa "1982 (Bad Trip Records)

first heard them except on the radio, the broadcast of Tom Rylko. Urzekli me right away. Simple very catchy hardcore with pissed-off characteristic, Snotty vocals (I can not find a good Polish specify ...). Music rooted in the punk tradition, the Avengers, Germs and even The Ramones, but with a distinctive hardcore touch, typical of the early stage of HC. I guess everyone knows, not necessarily even associating it with AS their song "Lights Out" (since this piece drew a name out of a fairly well-known old school crew from California), covers today by hundreds of bands, and the album includes some other well-known hits "Gas Chamber" and "They Saved Hitler's Cock", and virtually every track is classic. All served on cheerfully, without pathos, commitment, cynical and egg. For lack of space for other discs let Anry Samoans will be representative of other great bands from California, from those years - Adolescents, Bad Religion, Battalion of Saints, Dead Kennedys, DICKIES, AGENT ORANGE, BLACK FLAG, TSOL, CIRCLE JERKS and YOUTH BRIGADE. Plate several times reprinted, so as easy to come by. In principle, all the other discs AS are worth hearing.

BLITZ Voice Of A Generation "1982 (No Future Records)

the album I recorded a radio broadcast in the trustee Mark (yes, in the mid-80s flew in a radio disc !!!), all in an atmosphere of rumors about skinheads, etc. It is for me the best album Oi !, and cult classics. There is probably no weak points, and each piece is a hymn of the street. The team, which also had an impact on many hardcore crew - Slapshot, Agnostic Front, they even recorded a cover of Straight edge'owy Judge, at the beginning of the '90s gave rise to no small surprise in our country. 17 pieces of proof that Oi! not to be associated with wieśniactwem.

VERBAL ABUSE" Just An American Band "1983 (Fowl Records)

very good album that represents an early crossover (although it does not have as much metal as the later productions of the team), yet firmly rooted in punk and HC. The band was formed in Texas - hence can hear influences MDC, DRI, or even DEAD BOYS. They later moved to California, like many other local bands. peculiarity may be the fact that they rented the house together with the guys with the Dicks, DRI, MDC and ... Harley Flanagan of the CRO-MAGS. On this first album as a vocalist of the legendary singer gives SICK PLEASURE - Nicki Sicki, later replaced by vocalist CONDEMNED TO DEATH - Scott Wilkins. On subsequent discs can be observed many changes in the warehouses by the team of scroll to people connected with ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT, CODE OF HONOR, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, or even later drummer Machine Head, Testament - Chris Kontos. 12 fast, energetic rousing numbers from nihilistycznymi rather interesting cover textami + greateful Dead "American Band." Recently, the band reformed again So might be a chance to see them in Europe.

Adrenalin OD The Wacky Hi-Jinks Of "1984 (Buy Our Records)

Quintessence of American acute, simple trashowego (not in terms of metal) hardcore punk. These bands were then much in every state, many of these discs (often Only singles), but they managed to knock out a little and today belong to the canon of the Reagan Era HC. A dozen or so fast, kick-ass zfuzzowanych with careless vocals, often without the virtuosity + daft sentence such as Godzilla. It is in this music, however, something that has not yet managed to forge any Polish band. Americans are probably in the genes. It is worth mentioning that for sure these guys knew this record with the ID-a or ACT YOUTH riffs because some of their records are strangely familiar, and probably only they (especially early in the ID) is the most approached to that of a typical U.S. HC Field 80s. A piece Adrenalin OD, moreover, the band played mykka 100 which cover-design Petar and his colleagues from the UOM. This album is a full-length debut with the New Jersey crew, but their first recordings were on the cult compilation "New York Thrash" as early as 1982, then was still a cult classic single "Let's Barbeque" with Jim Foster on guitar, who later founded ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN. The band released 2 more cool plate to end on a rather dismal rock album, "Ishtar" in 1990., Which can be purchased even in Poland, thanks to Metal Mind.

BIG BLACK Songs About Fucking "1987 (Blast First)

For some, this board, this statement may be surprising, but it is a result of listening to my music in the early new wave, cold wave, post punk, and gothic, which is a species (as many people in the mid-80s), I listened to punk rock in parallel. This fascination with groups like Joy Division, Alen Sex Fiend, New Model Army, X-Mal Deutschland, The Cure, Opposition, early Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance led me to the music closer to the HC / Punk just as Big Black, Sonic Youth , Killdozer, Swans, Head Of David, Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid and Membranes. To this day I love the sound. The CD contains 14 songs with a distinctive post-hardcore, glassy, \u200b\u200band sharp as a razor guitars brzmieneim S. Albini known or later with Rapeman Shellac, dehumanized and seemed dispassionate, yet desperate vocals and the monotonous beat of a drum machine. Cover Krafttwerk "The Model" is a true gem. Classic rock noise.

Klamydia "Alpe" 1989 (Free Animals)

would not make sense some describe here some Ramones album, which I love so as a representative present to play like a Finnish Klamydia. Unpretentious, totally melodic and catchy punk rock in the tradition of Ramones & Misfits pinch, maybe the pace deczko more hardcore, but still punk rock. It's their big debut disc, which bought or stole something accidentally. Records during the many years it was an obligatory part of every party with me on the cottage next to "Punk Forever" KBO!, Operation Ivy or some Adicts that, demos Celi No. 3 will not mention. 20 pieces, which, although sung in Finnish, so catchy that after 2-3 hearings a man grabs that you sing around some pointless sentence like "Kuuban Miehet Suomessa. I love the raw sound of their first album. The band plays to date, and is very popular in Finland and Germany, have released so far about 20 discs I guess. I have not heard all, but always when some fall into the hands of listening to me several times. Relax. The style even has its name Ramalama punk and have many followers, but they are the most important for me.

-------------------- ----- SHEER TERROR
- "Just Can not Hate Enough" 1989 (Starving Missile Records)

This CD brought back from a trip to Berlin, my friend Radym in 89r. unless, and then I heard it the first time, but it took me some time to him I appreciated it. Quintessence core'a hate. Excellent combined HC / Punk in the medium pace rather climates POISON IDEA, NEGATIVE FX + metal guitar if alive, removed from Celtic Frost, double the rate (which was not even then such a norm in HC), and of an amazing brutal vocals Paul Bearer - pure hatred and aggression, the negative sentence ... I guess every impress the opening bars of CDs or text "Shut up punks!" Begins the title track, singing a monumental Paul in "Roses" and "Burning Time". I never had the vinyl version in hand, but thanks I could hear the bonuses of the singles included on the CD version - a memorable cover of The Cure, announced, "Robert Smiths sucks my dick." The band's cult for the New York scene, loved around the world by punks, and skinheads hardcore'owców. Are you sure you have all left their mark on the music even SFA HATEBREED, Awkward Thought, NRSV, BLOOD FOR BLOOD and Neglect. Recently, in the end I managed to see the DVD "Beaten By The Fists Of God" containing, inter alia, a wonderful reunion show from 2004. at New York's CBGB, which I recommend to all who want to see what the phenomenon of Sheer Terror. Paul Bearer has a new band JOE COFEE - kind of cool, but it is not the climate.

INTEGRITY - Those Who Fear Tomorrow = "1991 (Overkill Records)

This team should be familiar with anyone who listens to HC. Founded in 1989 in Cleveland, Ohio by vocalist dwide bands and the guys from Die Hard and Confront forever changed the face of the scene. No one before them in such a fucking way connected metal (the most demonic and sinister) of hardcore punk. We can easily say that they created a new school and the current metalcore. Somewhere long ago I read in a Maximum Rocknroll, it's Hardline, and somehow the team with reserve I went up to the plate, which przytargał somewhere then my younger brother Raphael. But this album just killed me, and of course Hardline was a lie and rumor. Rage, speed, and soon after an overwhelming relief, aggression, apocalyptic and demonic vocals, piercing guitars stitching, strong hardcore vocals. I have to boast that one of the early issues of "Passenger" I wrote a review of one of their next, equally brilliant albums "Humanity Is The Devil" and it was probably the first review of this type of music in this szmatławcu. The team several times not reached the Polish concert, but in the end 6-7 years ago I came across them in. They played a great set of mostly old songs checked and dwide was a really nice guy from the Silesian stroniącym not water and weed. More interestingly, without any problems give me a license to release all records on cassette Integrity in Poland - "I do not care about Tony Brummel and Victory." Unfortunately, this was the period when the tape as a carrier of slowly and I could spend zdychały only two titles - described here (but in an enlarged version of the slightly different title) and said, "Humanity ...." This album is a milestone in the history of HC and without it you may not arise in the 90's as much fun as the hordes of Liar, Congress, Fall Silent, Morning Again, Unbroken, and thousands of others. The album was frequently reprinted by various publishers, under various titles and in various configurations - often with multiple bonus season so stock up on it if you have not done /-Dar.

What Happens Next? - "Hollow Victory" 1999 (Not A Problem Records)

I knew I love this band before I heard it. At a time when the Internet was still in its infancy (at least in Poland) I read about them in a few western zine'ach. The band which gave the guests known for Spazz, CAPITAL CASUALTIES could not be evil. The ubiquitous metal and hardcore dominated at that time, and WHN? it was a breath of fresh air, but clearly alluding to my favorite period in music that is mid-80's. Incredibly energetic, spirited and lively hardcore thrash. Without the oppressive metal, very catchy and melodic in its own way, a fast buzz with great redundancy, tempo changes, backing vocals. This album is short and contains only 12 tracks, including covers of other great groups - Gorilla Biscuits and IMPACT UNIT. Power violence is already a little burned at this time, and WHN? with their music and ethics, fun, friendship, a kind of simplicity, encouraged by strong bases DIY inspired one thousand bands in the world. Well, this image - bandanas, flannel shirts, caps and had the roof .... Today, teams thrash / fast core are found on every continent - even in Ruda Slaska - HAN SOLO and Avari. This disc is unlikely to get for reasonable money in the origi vinyl version, but, fortunately, is part of the easily accessible CD "The First Year", published in Poland and on tape. I had the incredible pleasure of seeing a few years later, WHN? Live in Brno. Although hundreds of concerts I've seen before, then the first time in my life I saw the famous wall of death and the leaping drummer. WHN? does not exist, but its members are involved as usual in other bands, with the most interesting of which seems to CONQUEST FOR DEATH.
